<description>&#60;p&#62;Like 7.3 million other people, I'm writing a novel online. As an experiment, I'm creating Facebook and Twitter accounts for many of my characters, so they can interact with my fans (thanks, Mom!) and with each other. I assume that I'm not the first person to do this, has anyone else here played with the concept? How has it worked out for you?&#60;/p&#62;
&#60;p&#62;BTW, the novel is at:&#60;/p&#62;
&#60;p&#62;     &#60;a href=&#34;http://www.WebFeats.com/Transition/&#34; rel=&#34;nofollow&#34;&#62;http://www.WebFeats.com/Transition/&#60;/a&#62;&#60;/p&#62;
&#60;p&#62;...and links to my characters' Facebook and Twitter pages is at:&#60;/p&#62;
&#60;p&#62;     &#60;a href=&#34;http://www.WebFeats.com/Transition/characters.html&#34; rel=&#34;nofollow&#34;&#62;http://www.WebFeats.com/Transition/characters.html&#60;/a&#62;&#60;/p&#62;
&#60;p&#62;Looking forward to your feedback.

<title>Chris Poirier on "How do you (properly) use Twitter?"</title>

<description>&#60;p&#62;Hi all,&#60;/p&#62;
&#60;p&#62;Well, I'm finally back working on Winter Rain, after a long break.  And while I'm thinking about it, I thought it time to look into how to properly use Twitter.  I have an account (cmf_fiction), which I've been using for status updates on the writing.  I haven't been following anybody, because the top three items on that feed show up on my website, under the heading &#34;Writing Progress&#34;, and I didn't want any replies or follower stuff showing up there.  But now I'm wondering if that would even happen.&#60;/p&#62;
&#60;p&#62;So, crash course, please?  How should I be using Twitter?  Should I be following a lot of people?  Should I be using lists for stuff?  If so, what?  Is there anything else I should know?&#60;/p&#62;
&#60;p&#62;Thanks!&#60;/p&#62;
&#60;p&#62;Chris.

<description>&#60;p&#62;Most of you probably know that I'm running a twitter account (&#60;a href=&#34;http://twitter.com/onlinefiction&#34;&#62;@onlinefiction&#60;/a&#62;) for promotion of free, online fiction... but in case you don't, or you haven't been sure how to get listed, or you've asked to be listed and I've missed it (this has happened a bit, and I keep apologising... but again, I'm sorry if this has happened to anyone).&#60;/p&#62;
&#60;p&#62;There's an explanation of eligibility requirements &#60;a href=&#34;http://freefictiononline.wordpress.com/about/&#34;&#62;on the blog&#60;/a&#62; - basically, anything can be submitted, as long as it's easy enough for readers to navigate and you don't mind me linking to it how I like (I have had a couple of whines about directly linking to PDFs).&#60;/p&#62;
&#60;p&#62;If you'd like your site included, the best way to submit is via DM on twitter itself - a link + a bit of blurb on the site/story/serial.

<title>nomesque on "@onlinefiction Poll"</title>

<description>&#60;p&#62;For those who haven't been keeping up with the twitter madness, I started a new Twitter account - &#60;a href=&#34;http://twitter.com/onlinefiction&#34;&#62;@onlinefiction&#60;/a&#62; - to help promote free fiction on the web.&#60;/p&#62;
&#60;p&#62;I've just branched out to a new blog - imaginatively named &#60;a href=&#34;http://freefictiononline.wordpress.com&#34;&#62;Free Fiction Online&#60;/a&#62; - so that I can run polls based on the fiction currently being promoted. The theory is that a new poll will be run each month.&#60;/p&#62;
&#60;p&#62;There are a few reasons I decided to post a new topic on this - &#60;/p&#62;
&#60;p&#62;- I want y'all to know that this is not a very exclusive service. If your fiction isn't on there, either I thought it was practically unreadable or unnavigatable (unlikely), or it just hasn't come to my attention while I'm adding sites to my list. Have you noticed I'm a little absent-minded at times?&#60;/p&#62;
&#60;p&#62;- people might want to add a link to the current poll from their fiction site, if their site's included in the poll, and encourage their readers to vote.&#60;/p&#62;
&#60;p&#62;- leave me a comment, send me an email, direct a tweet my way if you'd like your fiction included in the regular tweets from @onlinefiction (and the polls)&#60;/p&#62;
&#60;p&#62;- feel free to wander over and vote!

<description>&#60;p&#62;Well, I'm shouting this one off the rooftops -- starting today I'm publishing SIGMA, a brand new STREET universe story on Twitter. It will feature multiple story updates a day and is interactive; the main character will respond to direct messages and @replies. It's something you should be paying attention to! ;)&#60;/p&#62;
&#60;p&#62;You can find SIGMA here: &#60;a href=&#34;https://twitter.com/sigmastory&#34; rel=&#34;nofollow&#34;&#62;https://twitter.com/sigmastory&#60;/a&#62;&#60;/p&#62;
&#60;p&#62;It's set decades before the events in Empathy, none of the familiar STREET characters have been born yet, but the past has been known to echo into the future in some ways . . .&#60;/p&#62;
&#60;p&#62;In any case, it's cool and you need to follow it.&#60;/p&#62;
&#60;p&#62;Regards,&#60;br /&#62;
Ryan
