My favorite place to write is my desk, with my laptop, on Word, with Hollywood Undead or random AMV's on youtube(Depending on my mood) playing in the background on my headphones. Nowhere else works for me.

Don't really have any options, but I've always written locked up in my room anyway. Prefer using Word over anything else.

By preference, I write in quiet solitude, but in practicality I have learned to write anywhere, anytime.

From Winter's Ashes: A Detective with nothing left to lose, against a Necromancer with a world to gain.

Straight into google docs, with whatever I have on hand

This sounds super stereotypical, but I get most of my work done in coffee shops. I need that caffeine buzz and people around me to focus.

Of course, much of the other work such as outlining and planning occur elsewhere.

I'm also one for coffee shops, though mostly because I can ignore the coffee shop noise to get work done, but when I stay home, my kids are kinda noise and distracting (as all good kids should be).

I've used setups that can be quite elaborate, but with the release of Scrivener for IOS most of the complexity has been taken out of it. My current setup is Scrivener on my iPad mini, which syncs with Scrivener on the desktop. From there I export files marked as published as markdown files to an includes directory in my Jekyll setup and then include the story text as posts on the site. Using Scrivener also means I can build ePub, Mobi and PDF versions for sale in all the usual places.

Sitting in my room, listening to a lot of rap music.

    But that's just me.

Bed. I lay in bed and write.

I need an office environment. I've done all of my best writing at work when no one was looking. Shhhh.
