The podcast sounded great. I look forward to hearing more.

Oddly enough, I ended up listening to it (on my iPhone) while chopping up a (large) fallen tree branch with an axe--which struck me as an odd mix of high and low tech.

    Okay, excerpt submission:

    Title: The Dragon Wars Saga
    Author: Becka Sutton
    Excerpt: Chapter 1 part 6 (1270 words)

It may be the end of the chapter but it's a self-contained scene that really does stand alone to a reasonable degree.

So, I listened to the podcast today while writing blog entries and surfing around the internet. Loved it.

Finally got around to picking a submission, too (I was on the fence because it's a touch shorter than most)

    Title: Awakenings
    Author: Erin M. Klitzke
    Excerpt: Chapter 1, part 1 (~900 words) (http://awakenings.embklitzke.com/?p=83)

It really does kind of set things up for the rest of the piece, including Kellin answering Carolyn's thought verbally, which hints at the preternatural/supernatural aspects of the new world.
