I Did It!

So, I did it. I actually finished something. It's just a short story, but it's finished. I wrote my first draft, the second draft, and sent it into the editor when I felt it was ready. Did more edits, and now, it's up on Amazon for sale. I never really believed that I would do this, but I did! I finally did! Really, it's partially thanks to my fiancee. If he didn't hit the Save and Continue button for my book information, I would never have moved on. I would have stayed there until I talked myself into not publishing it. So, he hit it, I came up with my prices and then hit the publish button. Immediately regretted as soon as I did, but I couldn't cancel it. As my fiancee put it, "There's no going back now."

The short story, Dealing With Death, just went live today and I already have one sale. Though that sale was me buying it for my mom to surprise her, so it really doesn't count. I don't know where I was going with that. I'm just so excited and scared that I can't think straight.

Anyways, I just thought I would share this bit of news with you all! Here's a link if you are interested in giving it a look: http://tinyurl.com/zvrkj5d

    Congratulations, Emma! :D
I just recently finished a short (about 25k, without selling, though) by myself and can pretty much empathise.
    Hope your mom likes it.

Congratulations. Not everyone actually manages to do what you've done you know!

@Tintenteufel: Thank you. Mine was no where near that long. About 7k words when it was all said and done. 25k long short story is quiet a feat. I'm hoping to do more short stories around that length. And my mom did like it. She said it made her cry. It's kind of a depressing story so I guess it did what it was supposed to do.

@SnowyMystic: Thank you as well. I had a hard time publishing it. I was going to do it months ago, but decided I couldn't do it because I couldn't come up with a description. It seemed like a good enough excuse at the time.
