Metaworld Chronicles

Hi everyone, I am the author of Metaworld Chronicles. My book had been ranking between no.1 to no.3 (realistically just no.3) for some time now on Topwebfiction.

With a manuscript for vol.1 almost done, I am looking into publishing the book, but at the same time, I want to retain a free version for everyone to read. As for the possibility of both having a book out from a publisher and a non-professionally edited version available for free: only time will tell.

Rather than self-promotion (I doubt its possible for the book to beat the grandmaster, Ward...) I want to offer everyone a chance to read the book as well as give something back to the community here who have been so kind and rewarding to a novice writer like me.

Having reached the 1 million word milestone on the fiction, I'd thought I'd make a post. If there are any questions anyone would like to ask about the process of writing, ideas, stamina, characterisation and so on, please post them below.

Read responses...

Are you thinking self publishing or trad? Because a lot of trad publishers might baulk at the idea of having a paid and a free version of the same book circulating.

I'd say so, will have to discuss with agent and so on. If there's no compromise, I'll likely self-publish.

    Edit: removed double post.

When you say publish, do you mean self-publish or traditional publishing? Because it's pretty rare for a trad publisher to go for a book that's already been published for free, especially if it's still available online. It's not completely unheard of, of course, just quite rare. Still, if that's what you want, bloody go for it!

What's your greatest challenge been in balancing the demands of readers versus your own story interests? When you get to the point in popularity of your story, I'd imagine there will be quite a few divides there, especially when your story is on a site like RoyalRoad instead of its own website.

And on that note, rather than self-publishing/ebook publishing, have you considered leaving RoyalRoad behind?

Sorry boss, but there's only two men I trust. One of them's me. The other's not you.
