New Series/Site Feedback

Hello everyone! I have just recently decided to try the web novel format and have begun posting this week on my new series: The watchful Skies. I am very excited about this format and connecting directly with readers, but I am also new to hosting this type of content and could use some advice from those willing to give it.

I have submitted my new series for review, but, in the mean time, I would like any input the community would be willing to give me on improving the reader and community experience on my site. My page is new and very bare-bones, so I would like help determining the direction I should move the site in to make the reading experience more comfortable for my (currently nonexistent) audience.

I will post the link to my site down below, but I will refrain from giving any further information here on the hopes that you can tell me if my site was easy to navigate and clear in its intentions without prior knowledge. Also, feedback on the story itself is welcome, but I am not expecting detailed reviews before the series has passed the editors.

Any advice the more experienced members of the community can give me is greatly appreciated. The site address for my series is

*EDIT: I meant to post this in the "Anything Goes" forum but clicked the one above it; my brain must have been thinking feedback and overruled my hands. Only noticed just now, sorry about that.

Initial visual impressions: The site looks extremely barebones, to the point of my eyes going "This site isn't even finished, is there content here to find?"

The site needs to show from moment one that there is *content* to grab the interest of the reader. Make sure your links to each chapter are prominent and clear.

It looks like you have an interlude before you have any ludes.

    Thanks for the replies guys.

Based on those comments, I think I should first spend more work on the homepage to make clear where things are and what has already come out.

I appreciate the input. As my site evolves, any further input is always welcome!

As a new reader, especially one who'll be coming in from your WFG listing eventually, I'd want to see one of two things: your first post, or a teaser separate from the WFG summary that leads straight into the main post. I'm not even crazy about the landing pages that are all announcements from the author; I'm here to read your story. I'll care about you after and if - only if - you've got me hooked. :)

I'm going to echo most of the other opinions here. I think your site needs some work.

Visit my site, I have punch and pie.
I also have two stories: Delvers LLC and The Crimson Artifice. :)
