PCS Podcast: Ending Series and Writers' Block

10 months ago | Jim Zoetewey (Moderator)

Hey everyone...

I just thought that I'd mention that the most recent episode of the Pen & Cape Society podcast is up. In this one, we talk about ending a series and writer's block among other topics. I thought people might be interested since Drew Hayes talks about ending Superpowered, one of the earlier superhero web serials and Christopher Wright talks about ending Curveball, a more recent, but still long-running superhero serial.

    I plan on giving it a listen tomorrow on my way to work. I'll let you know what I think!

    Most important take away from the podcast: I FINALLY KNOW HOW TO PRONOUNCE YOUR NAME!

    It was nice to come across a podcast revolving around web serials (even if it was about just one genre) as most podcasts that I have come across in indie publishing are strictly on the ebook side and not about web fiction.

    It was a little hard getting through the nerd fight, but I enjoyed it overall (I am definitely in your camp on the writer's block debate). I will come back for more, but because the superhero genre is not one that I write in I'm not sure how many of the episodes will be relevant to me. With that said, and to anyone else reading, if you DO write in the super hero genre this podcast is pretty excellent and you should give it a listen.

    @ubersoft
    That was my favorite part of the rant :)

    Good interview too!

    I'm glad you liked the podcast (and interview). Honestly, there are so many more people I'd like to interview than we can realistically into the podcast episodes that we do per year. Every now and then I think I should start an all interview series where I interview members of PCS, WFG, the Collective of Heroes web comic group, and other superhero writers.

    Will I ever get the time/nerve? Who knows?

    LOL. It takes me MONTHS to get around to finishing editing each of these things, and you're that far behind! :D
