Serials You'll Never Write

    I'm just letting you know, Chrysalis, that I'm planning on suing you for infringing on my upcoming work "Heroes vs Villains: Kinky Bedroom Showdowns"

    But as far as serials I'll *never* write, there's one idea I had kicking around but don't think I could get the rights from all the right people (you know how prickly all those stuck-up copyright holders can be), and that would have to be

    "Kinda Super Solstice War: The Super-Powered Grave Sin Eaters of Nowhere Island in Retrospect and their Starwalking Other Kind of Winter Rainy Anathema (Book 1 of the Gregorfionan Chronicles)"

    Spurs & Seraphim (ongoing) | Beta Key (complete) | Twisted Cogs (complete) | Orbital Academy (complete)

    "The Neverending Hiatus" A masterpiece of suspense.

    The story of a fifteen-and-a-half year old girl, thrust onto a starship and out of her element. Watch as everything goes horrifically wrong, see her very presence somehow make any situation incalculably worse, and cringe as her every action is met with failure beyond what reality should ever allow. A Trekkie's Tale 2: The Misadventures of Sue Marie
    A place for me to inflict my writings upon an unprepared and unsuspecting world!

    _Wheel of Serial_: The epic SFF series so long it cannot be finished in a human lifetime, every word of it unalterable because it's already been read by a bunch of people who would get screwed by edits that are desperately necessary to keep things tight and coherent.

    @Fiona: Damn, I was so looking forward to reading that. I guess I'll just have to watch the movie instead.

    @Psycho: For that mash-up, there's a movie called "Dorian Gray" that's as close as you'll get to it. Has orgies and hints at bondage, but doesn't actually show it. Link if you're interested:

    @InkyLlama: I would totally give you permission to do that. I really want to see that written.

    @Fiona - sometimes I think I am writing the never ending hiatus :(. I really need to find time but I've been working like 70 hours a week.

    @G.S. Williams That's a tough schedule :-(

    @Oniwasabi. I bet no-one would fall in love with poor Sue-Marie, especially not the Captain. People in general would mildly dislike her. I'd like to read that story - you should write it!

    @Fiona If it's done over and over again, The Final Battle isn't so final after all!

    @Tartra Do it. I feel like every time you pitch a concept I tell you to do it. But hell. I'm saying it again. Do. It. Though actually do the tree one first I really wanna read that.

    @Chris This is the response that made me laugh out loud.

    @Kess Replace English with Japanese, and this feels like the makings of a really weird anime.

    @Inky As someone who owns the trademark for the phrase "Kinda Super," you're not allowed to use it!

    @PG -pation.

    Serials you won't see me write?

    "All Fights, All The Time" : Every episode another battle! Why? Who cares! Guys attacking Girls attacking Guys and possibly a land mine.

    "The Main Character is Dead Again" : You only had 2,000 words to get to know her, but she's gone. So we'll focus on this shopkeeper, then that janitor, and when humanity's dead - how about this albatross?

    "Mr. Freeze Frees Freezies Friezes" : He had a cold heart, until he combined his love of architecture with an iced treat and started giving it away. His rival Mr. Febreeze was having none of it.

    @Kess: That's awesome. I think the answer is they both become Canadian. (Seriously people, honour has a U, and analyze has a Z! Get it right!)

    Inky: I'm afraid I can only license the rights to Johannes Jager, and nobody wants those.

    @Billy You know when you name a file result_final.*?
    There's always a result_final1, result_final1a, etc

    @Billy - ahahaha, yes, anime red pen fighting. That sounds like something that probably exists.

    @mathtans - and there's the resolution of the story! They move to Canada and fall in love, and try not to argue about what the proper plural of 'moose' should be.

    Not-a-four-letter-title: De-escalating from the start!

    @Emma That's not a mash-up, considering what The Picture of Dorian Gray would include. Lots of hedonism and debauchery in there. Opium, murder, suicide, romance, hunting accidents.

    And here's a whole new serial title:

    Internet Forum Fight: The Battle Begins

    It all started over a discussion of swords and spears...
