topwebfiction.com interval change

9 years ago | Chris Poirier (Moderator)

Hi all,

As voting seems up, in general, I've decided topwebfiction.com can handle a longer interval and still stay interesting. I'm trying a 7 day interval for the next little while. Let me know what you think.

Chris.

I like that we can still access the other intervals too, but this should be fun to see.

I think it's a great idea. There seems to be a minor glitch with the site now, though: the drop-down interval menu still lists "24 hours" but that selection simply redirects to the seven day interval.

Hmmm I'm not sure about this.

Only The Antithesis has huge votes. This is just going to make its lead even more unassailable.

Chuck -- good catch. I think it's fixed -- let me know if you see any other weirdness.

Shutsumon -- yes, The Antithesis has done a very good job getting its reader to vote. However, the benefit of the longer interval is that stories that only update once a week will have a better chance of being near the top. Also, having a couple of hundred votes in evidence "above the fold" seems to reflect on us better than the couple of dozen that were showing with the daily interval. That said, I'm not adverse to turning it back to 3 days, if the page gets too static.

    Chris.
