Just wanted to share my happy news somewhere :) With the help of a friend, I got my front page to not only display the most recent four posts, but now I've got next and previous links that will load the next/previous 4 stories without reloading the whole page.

And if you have javascript turned off, the page just loads like it did before without the extra nav functionality.
