Anyone on StumbleUpon?

Well, the title says it all.

I'm there under Janoda: http://janoda.stumbleupon.com/public/

I've bookmarked quite a few blooks already, as well as the Guide itself. But it never hurts to find some people with more or less the same interests...

Janoda, I see you stumbled me. Thanks! I don't have an account...I might should look into getting one.

You know, I think I used to be on Stumbleupon- but my computer suffered a cyberseizure and in the resulting amnesia I lost my password and account details; I've never gotten around to getting them back. I mean, I'd have to sit there trying to guess what I was thinking when I created the account to remember the code- I should write these things down. Perhaps I'll create a new account at some point- yes! This thread has inspired me. I will do that.

Eventually...

I haven't got an account, but there is an SU page for Street, with a little button to stumble it. I think. Dunno how it works, I don't really do social networking sites. :P

Regards,

Ryan

I have a STUMBLE account. I'm still getting use to the whole stumbling aspect of it though.

I've got one, my name's AlexMcGaughan on it (go figure). On a side note, this is my first forum post from my iPod Touch. Wee fun!

I figured blooks could use some stumble-upon traffic, since we have to get online reading out there to the "still unknowing not online reading crowd"!

Huh. I have one, but I don't think I've actually used it for anything other than fighting boredom. I'd never really thought to use it as a form of advertising...

I actually get quite a bit of traffic from StumbleUpon. How many stumblers actually stay to read the story, I don't know, but it definitely brings in the most traffic of any social network.

Hi Janoda

Thanks for 'stumbling' Refuge Of Delayed Souls :D

I was just wondering why on earth you tagged it 'porn'? Must admit I was really shocked to see that LOL

That happens automaticly when you tag something adult content. I always have to delete that tag manually...

@ Janoda *!* That explains that then LOL

I was really worried there for a while ;D

Well, I've been favoriting a lot of good webnovels on Stumbleupon, because I believe it might be a good way to get some traffic of non convinced internetsurfers. I mean, people seem to be fighting for the fish in a small puddle of readers, so I'm on a mission to expand the internet/online novel readers. If everybody with an account would thumbs up his favorite story, and ofcourse the WFG site, we might increase our puddle :D

I just joined, but I have no idea how to use it.

It works like channeling tv, only the tv became the internet. it's easiest to download the toolbar, and then it kinda shows how it works itself. The stumble faq is good too.

Basicly you can either press the stumble button, which will then show you a random page conform you interests (mine are books, writing and music, but their about 100 options), press thumbs up/down or leave it like that, if you really like it you can write a review.

If you are browsing regularly, you can thumbs up sites you think should be seen by more people, and if you are the first person to do this you make a "discovery". If this is the case ALWAYS write a review, and tag and category wisely. This way more people will stumble upon it. I have discovered a lot of webfiction listed here that way. And then it's hoping that more people will thumb up it. And that's where our community might come in handy. Not to promote our own work (apparantly thumbing up a lot of your pages (e.g. every chapter) is considered spam) but to promote online reading and webnovels as a genre.

Please also post your stumble name!

Uh... I believe my stumble name is Sorakainomori.

I'm at:

I'm up there too, and have had an account for a while, but I'm not good enough at it to make the most of this tool. I'm hoping to get the hang of it eventually. :-)

I am on SU as http://kytsune.stumbleupon.com/

tg i'm not the only one who has struggled with su lol. i joined about a year ago and never used it... until i noticed the referrals to my site thru yours, janoda :) thanks!

i feel a learning curve a-coming on...
