I'm new, on cue, and ready to review!

Hello WFGers,

I'm so new I don't even know what y'all call yourselves as a group (is there even a collective noun for writers?), but hello, good day, and wotcha in any case. I'm David, and I've only decided to take the plunge into serial fiction proper in the last few weeks, after germinating a serial-specific idea over the last six months or so.

Anyway, this isn't about that - I'm not even listed on here yet, so don't worry about my story for the moment.

Along with my own serial project, I've decided to take a stab writing culture reviews, including, because I'm starting to fall for this community in a big way after lurking like a boss, serial web fiction reviews. I've pretentiously titled my own planned take on reviewing speculative fiction 'The SPEC review', and you can read about it here: https://davidwhitechapel.wordpress.com/2015/12/24/the-spec-review/

tl;dr if you can't be bothered to check that out, or are skeptical I'm just here to pimp my blog WFG style: I'm going to grade spec fic on Story, Prose, Energy, and Charm, and aim to write reviews with a unique and hopefully funny, nay, hilarious style and voice. Laugh, goddamn you.

Fancy stepping up for one of these? I'm going to start pumping these out in the new year, and, I should also say, I'm keen to try and be a bigger part of this community as well. Let me know what you think, and if you might be keen to get the SPEC treatment. Which, because none exist yet, makes me feel all kinds of snake-oily and magic-beany. You'll have just have to take it on trust that I can write a worthwhile review, I guess, to throw your hat in the ring.

I've said quite enough, I'm sure, to vie for winner of 'most unnecessarily long forum topic 2015', but I'd be lying if I said that was the only reason I posted this. No, surprisingly, it's not to get you to read my still embryonic story - honestly, it still needs time to brew and grow. It's because I think you're all wonderful for what you do and how you persevere at it, through thick and thin; you're all bloody inspiring people. LET ME BECOME ONE OF YOU. Oh, and merry-happy happy-merry christmas everybody! Have an awesome one and talk to you more in the new year :)

Sure I'll offer my serial up as a sacrificial lamb. That means you can review it. ;)

Oh, and welcome to the community. I hope to see you around a lot.

Haha, yeah. I'll step up too. Feel free to review A Bad Idea. Review the crap out of it, if you so desire.

Doesn't take much to become part of the community, David! You posted, which is the main requirement, I think?

I'll throw my serial in! Glad to see another newbie!

Sure, have at. :) From Winter's Ashes is almost done Book 1, so now's a great time to dive in.

Whelp, can't hurt to give it a shot.

The book's gearing up to its climactic finale and then a couple aftermath chapters. So. Yeah.

Woah, this sounds awesome! I would love to throw Antlers, CO in for a review.

Also, welcome to the community, and happy holidays! :)

Can I submit Nowhere Island University? The link is in my signature.

I'm down like a frown, Charlie Brown! Cruise Control's the serial and the link is on my sig. Thanks so much :)

Ha ha, looking forward to your reviews, David!

Wait, are you claiming that you aren't human? I mean, we are all humans here, so you kinda are already one of us.

Eh whatever.

Anyway I like your scoring categories.

I'm up for being reviewed even if I'm a bit late to the party. Link is in my sig.

I wouldn't mind a review. The link to my story is in my signature. I was going to use the term sig, but I can't help but think of the Sig from Top Gear when I see that.

It's the stig Emma, but I forgive you :P you're all on my list now hohoho!

Warning: I am going to be ruthless so please please let me know if that's a dealbreaker. And don't say I didn't warn you.

And to snowy: well I'm human now *laughs maniacally*. I mean... hohoho everyone!

It is the Stig. Damn morning brain.

Welcome David, and merry Christmas. My serial needs to get going before it can really be reviewed, but a ruthless look sounds nice. I suppose I'll throw my hat in after you've got a few reviews out.

Also, anybody, I don't know how to add a signature, which I should... How does one do that?

More reviews (and feedback) are always good, so I'm in. Hope this goes well for you, man. Sounds like it'll be cool.

Hello David. Feel free to give Don't Feed The Dark your honest review... and good luck with your own story and website ;)

Here's a direct link to chapter 1:

Thanks all who are interested - I'll be putting these out soon, so stay tuned :)

I'd like to hop in too. The link is in my signature.

I haven't had a review on Midnight Moonlight in a while, or Et Alia at all, so by all means: if you'd like to add mine to the end of the list, do. ;)
