Greetings fellow humans
It is I, he who has a terrible anxiety to actually comment on stuff here.
And I have a question to you all that I've been avoiding for quite some time now:
What do you think about non-english submissions/fiction on the WebFictionGuide?
I wrote a mail to Chris, back in December I think, and his answer was to ask you guys. Which I admittedly kept postponing because of...cowardly reasons. Now however I plan on really giving this whole WebSerial thing my all. But for that I need to get at least a tiny bit of an audience and this here is my first place to go looking.
My reasons for asking are threefold:
1. I write in german. I could try english - as chrysalis so valiantly does, congrats again! - but that would eat to much of my time and cut out my favorite part of writing: Playing with the words. I don't really feel comfortable doing that. My writing suffers and as a consequence I get even more dissatisfied with it.
2. There exists no german equivalent to a site like this. Even though I've learned these past few months that german WebSerials do exist they don't really congregate and networking there takes a lot of Micromanagement.
3. There is a sizable german audience here, as far as I know. Or at least a few Serials - or so I have heard - have readers from Germany. Well, I know from a few I brought over at least.
So for me WFG is a very good place to start. It already has an audience that is used to WebFiction and a portion of that speaks my language and might be starved for that.
Of course I would respect the opinion to keep WFG english and I don't really expect massive numbers. But nontheless it would be a good motivation for me to keep my listing place.
So what do you guys think?
