I have submitted my website and I'm just waiting on approval (hopefully I get it) for my teen fiction online diary blog called Happily Amber After.
A little background for those who are curious: Happily Amer After is basically an online diary blog of fictional West Australian teen girl Amber A, who is just starting Senior School, in 2004. The blog is in real- time (aka, the dates of 2004 run in parallel with 2017 dates) and is normally updated daily. It mirrors some of the issues that I went through during high school; there is drama obviously, but I've tried to make it as realistic as possible, so other teens may be to relate to it, and maybe take something useful away from it.
The idea came to me because I feel like there is no Australian teen literature during this era; the rise of Facebook, MySpace was all the rage, disc man's were starting to die out with the rise of Apple and the ipod, and camera phones were just starting to take off. Nokia and Blackberry reigned supreme. And also, I was really tired of reading about teenagers who 'suffered' a major tragedy, or ran away from home, or discovered they were part of a bigger picture, etc. I just wanted to write about a normal, average girl, who was going through her adolescent years. Lol.
Anyway! As for my website, I'm still working on a couple of things, in particular the About page (I'd love some feedback on that actually), but I would really appreciate some feedback on how to make my website more user friendly (if you think it isn't already). I just want to know if it's easily to navigate. I don't want to make it too hard for my target audience to find what they are after.
Any constructive criticism is much appreciated
