Submission queue tool

Hi everyone,

After trying to describe the existing submission approval process for our kind volunteers, I decided that wasn't going to work out. So, tonight I'm building a simple tool to help. The first part is up: the long overdue public submission queue: http://submissions.webfictionguide.com

I'll be adding functionality to it over the evening. If it's down or wonky, it's because I'm developing it live. You have been warned. :)

Chris

Nice work, Chris. Look forward to the functionality - got some time to kill this weekend and will see if we can make a dent in the queue.

Thinking more long-term, what are your thoughts on how fast the queue should move? Is it better to have only a few get processed at a time, so each new story has some time on the 'new to WFG' part of the front page?

I have historically tried to hold it to 3 new listings a day. However, when I fall behind, that goes up. Sometimes a lot.

Probably want to see how the new process works out before deciding.

Still working on the editing side of things. Heading to bed now. I'll finish it up tomorrow. I hope.

Probably not getting this thing done tonight. I may process a few submissions myself, just to keep things moving.

By way of update, I'm still working on this. Had a product release at work, this week, so I haven't made much progress, but I will continue to plug away.

Thanks Chris. We appreciate all the work you put into this site and the community.

Thanks, Chris! This is great visual reassurance for all us anxious souls. :p
