A few weeks ago, I had asked some advice on a serial I had been writing. I knew it had a few issues, but I wasn't fully aware of what they were and what to do. Truth be told, writing the serial was becoming extremely mentally taxing since I had pretty much written myself into a corner, and even though I did want to continue telling the story, I wasn't sure how to do so without making things worse.
To add to the problem, I had been brainstorming an idea for another serial, and was eager to start writing it, but the shadow of the one I was currently writing weighed on me. I wasn't sure how I should start or if the same mistakes would carry over. Fortunately, I was given the opportunity to ask for some insights and advice on where I was going wrong, which has helped me out a great deal.
Thanks to the opportunity and advice I was given, I was able to knuckle down and come to the decision to put my first serial on hiatus while I do a rewrite. I think I'll be ready to start republishing it by some time in September, then I'll take another swing at submitting it.
Most importantly however, this has given me the insight I needed to not succumb to the same pitfalls as before in writing my new serial (or so I hope), and improve my writing. Thus, I'd like to say thank you to everyone who took the time to help me out. Now that I'm not so dreadfully busy as I was in the last few weeks, I'll be more active in the forums and with reviews again. This might be overly sappy and perhaps unnecessary, but I really appreciate the help I've gotten.
